Why does my link from last month not work anymore? We had too many people that would sign up and forget about it. So now we wipe it clean every month (at the start of the month). Unless you are an active band and have more than zero points. Then we like you and everything stays the same as it ever was. However, we now have a cool prize if you win. How do I have less votes today than I did yesterday? To make sure no one floods the chart and blocks everyone else from having a chance, we have the automated system cut everyone's votes by 10% evenly every night. So to stay on the chart you have to keep getting votes. It's better to just send a few votes everyday then a flood in one day. This is also why we do not wipe bands votes at the end of the month. So yes votes do in fact cross over from month to month (other than the daily reduction). Back to Top

It isn't counting my votes? To prevent cheating, we only allow each IP# to have one vote per day. The problem with that of course is that many homes have several computers, but only one IP number. We also have many people who do their web surfing at work, they work in a building with sometimes 100's of computers, and only one IP#. Yes, we know this may not be fair to only count the first vote that happens for the day from these types of situations, but the only other choice we have is to leave it wide open. We have tried to leave it wide open like that before and we ended up with nothing but a ton of bots flooding our system with multiple votes. Then the only bands who win are the ones with servers and programing skills that know how to set up those votting machines. We think that is even less fair. The system will tell you if your vote was counted or not. If it tells you the vote didn't count, that means it has not been a full day since you voted last time. Trust us on this one. Why make it into some stupid popularity contest? Well, because most bands are lazy shits and expect things to fall on their laps. Seriously, this is our way of helping the bands that help us. With the smallest bit of effort you can win this. If each band member, their friends, and their mom's saved the band's unique url as their homepage the top spot would be yours. It can be done. When will this end? At the end of the month. Then we announce a winner, remove them from the contest, remove any band with zero points, and continue on with the next months contest. Does it matter if we are signed or not? Although the purpose of this is to network with the deeper underground and unsigned bands, we will not kick off a signed band. As technology grows, it gets cheaper. As it gets cheaper, more tiny labels pop up. So the line between signed and unsigned is just something that isn't worth debating. Lastly, I have seen some amazaing bands on major labels get less push then an unsigned band with a passionate fan base. So we link to all bands who want to link back to us. Back to Top

Is there a way for active bands to keep their same link? Yes! We will do our best to not change the link for bands that are active. But if you are at zero votes you will be gone. Stay involved or be removed. It's just that simple. We will try to remember if you have been active recently, but forgot. No promises on that though. Your best bet is to save your link as your homepage so you get at least one vote per day. Back to Top

Can't you make it re-set the votes but not the band's link? Yes we could. In fact we are working on a better system. Until we do, this will have to work. When we do have it automaticly re-set the votes we will make it so that bands with zero votes still get removed. The plan is to have the system email the band before they are removed. Back to Top

The band *** has an ad at the *** website! This is not cheating. Why would we tell bands not to promote their link? We encourage bands to promote their link. We get a few people saying, "But it counts it as a vote as soon as you click the ad". That would be no differant than the links we make for the bands in the 'Toolbox' section for each band.
